MILAN –Marco Tronchetti Provera, president of Inter’s official sponsor Pirelli, gave some statements to Sky Sport Italia today from the presentation of the tyre giant’s official calendar.
"Thohir has passion and a desire to do well. The team is expressing itself well on the pitch and looking good, so I think they’ll make the fans happy. It seems to me that Thohir has inherited the spirit of Moratti. I’ve seen him in person and on TV, and he’s very determined to bring great results to Inter. He gives the fans hope.
"Inter leaders as regards sound financial health? Today the team is playing well, and financially speaking they’ve become stronger over the years. The stadium plans have to be studied well to give the game the kind of necessary support it must have.
"Did I consider buying Inter? No, I do a lot of things but an adventure in football is a demanding one. As per the contract, we’ll continue to be the sponsor for another two years and try to do even more by taking advantage of Thohir’s Asian contacts.
"Mazzarri? He’s shown himself to be a great coach, and I have to say that the team is doing better than we fans had expected. Now he has to keep it up…"
