SAMADEN: "IN EUROPE TO SHARE AND COMPARE"

The youth academy director in Amsterdam for the start of a new ECA working group focused on youth football

MILAN - Roberto Samaden, director of the Nerazzurri’s youth academy, spoke by phone from Amsterdam during the broadcast of Inter Channel’s "Radio Appiano", to comment on Inter’s participation in the European Club Association. The ECA organised a working group focusing on youth academies that will work together over the next two years, and Samaden will act as the sole Italian representative.

Here are the statements from the youth academy director:

"Today the inauguration was held for this group, which will deal with youth football issues for the ECA. The club wanted me to take part in this project in which 20 European teams are participating. It was a long day and we dealt with several issues relating to youth football. It’s very interesting to learn about the situations in other European countries, and as regards relations with the other clubs it’s an important chance to get to know each other and 'steal' a few ideas.

"Last year we were invited by the ECA to London along with Ajax and Dinamo Zagreb to discuss our work methods and scouting with other clubs. We’re continuing to make progress and reap the fruits of our labour, which is evidently admired abroad. We’re pleased with our group work, and we have to give credit to everyone who is involved in helping our youngsters to make progress."
