MILAN - The football world will be on the pitch with AIRC, the Italian Association for Research into Cancer, and you can be too!
The 'Un Gol per la Ricerca' (A goal for research) initiative is back especially for Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November - officially 'Research Days' - with the support of AIRC along with Lega Serie A, TIM and the Italian Association of Referees.
Captain Javier Zanetti will be the Inter star involved. He will be joined by other top-class players, including Stephan El Shaarawy, Claudio Marchisio and Alessandro Del Piero.
But all of us can take part in this battle. We can all play an important role in making progress through research. Together we can make cancer more treatable, by making a donation with an SMS to 45503, to bring through a new generation of talented researchers, future 'champions' when it comes to research into cancer.
The Azzurri will also be involved in the scheme: on the day of Italy v Germany, Prandelli's men - thanks to the support of the FIGC - will support research into cancer on the pitch and via the media to get supporters involved.
