MAZZARRI: "TORINO HAVE PICKED UP LESS THAN THEY DESERVE"

"A tough game at a unique ground and Ventura has them well drilled. It's going to be another big test for us. We need to be more clinical"

APPIANO GENTILE – Walter Mazzarri began his press conference on the eve of Inter's Week 8 match away to Torino by weighing up tomorrow's opponents: "We can expect a tough game at what is a unique ground, against an excellent side with a coach whose teams are always well drilled. Torino have also picked up fewer points than they deserve so far this season. It's going to be another big test for us but I'm confident we can put on a good performance."

The coach then reflected on the Nerazzurri's defeat to Roma before the international break: "We lost the game but we didn't play all that badly. We made some mistakes and we paid for them, yet there were lots of positives too. We need to keep improving as a team but I think overall we've done well so far, and the lads are putting in a lot of effort."

On who could be the danger men for Torino tomorrow and what mistakes Inter must avoid: "Cerci, Immobile and Barreto depending on who plays are all a serious threat. They're a fine team and we'll have to be very careful. We've conceded several goals on the break but that's something we've worked on and will keep working on. I'd like us to be more clinical and make the most of situations in the final third."

Mazzarri was also asked about the returning Argentina internationals. "If there's a delay to a well-organised flight then it's nobody's fault so I don't see why I should fine the players. How do they look fitness-wise? I don't know, they just got back yesterday, had a warm-down and did some light training. But they came back with no injuries and that's already a good thing in itself. I'll take a proper look at them today and pick the players who offer me the best guarantees."

The coach then revealed that he even missed last night's top-of-the-table clash between Roma and Napoli so that he could observe his own players in action: "I watched a video of Argentina v Uruguay instead of the Roma match. I needed to see how my men are shaping up going into the Torino game."

The coach did however offer his thoughts on Roma and their impressive start to the campaign: "They're very solid this year and have added experience to the side. They look like a team with a top coach who is being followed by all his players. They have every chance of going all the way."
