INTER 3-0 LOCARNO: BELFODIL, OLSEN, SAMUEL

A useful run-out for the Nerazzurri against the Swiss outfit, watched on by president Moratti from the sidelines

APPIANO GENTILE - Inter beat Locarno 3-0 in a friendly match played on the Tribunetta pitch at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti this afternoon, with president Massimo Moratti observing proceedings from the dugout. Mazzarri's side took an early lead thanks to a Belfodil penalty then rounded out the scoring after the break with a solo effort from Olsen and a Samuel header.

FIRST HALF – The visitors took the kick-off but it was Inter who had a chance to open the scoring almost immediately when Belfodil was brought down in the box when through on goal. The young forward stepped up to the spot himself and made no mistake with his conversion. 1-0 with less than two minutes on the clock.

Five minutes into the game Mudingayi picked out Juan Jesus's run down the left and the Brazilian sent in a cross which came off a defender and ended up in the arms of the keeper. The centre-back, playing in a less familiar role on the left wing today, was involved again two minutes later. Locarno custodian Buono got himself in a fix and lost the ball outside his area but managed to recover just in time to collect the Nerazzurri No.5's delivery from out wide.

Moments later Cambiasso did well to win the ball and release Kuzmanovic, who motored into the area before firing over. The Serbian midfielder went even closer in the 12th minute with a sweetly struck angled drive that fizzed a fraction wide of Buono's goal.

Locarno's first attempt came on 14 minutes, but Carrizo was alert to Monighetti's free kick.

Kuzmanovic tried his luck from range once more in the 17th minute: this time it was on target but failed to test Buono.

Belfodil could have made it two when he was played in by a great ball from Juan Jesus, but his touch let him down and the keeper was able to rush off his line and gather. Wallace then saw his cross-shot fly over the bar and in the 24th minute Juan Jesus pushed forward again on the opposite flank: he won a lucky deflection and entered into the box, only to see Buono shoot off his line and beat him to it.

Ventre went close in the 26th minute when he burst forward and rifled in a shot, forcing the Locarno keeper into a top-drawer save. The Primavera striker created another opportunity for himself on the stroke of half time, cutting in from the left before calling Buono into action once more with a long-range strike.

SECOND HALF - Olsen and Castellazzi replaced Cambiasso and Carrizo during the interval. Within 4 minutes of the restart the young Dane was handed a chance to score following some handy work by Ventre but miscued his finish.

Bicvic drew a super save out of Castellazzi in the 55th minute as the visitors looked for an equaliser but instead Inter made it two-nil just after the hour mark. Olsen jinked his way past a series of challenges inside the area before eventually finding space for a shot, which hit the back of the net via a deflection.

A minute after the restart Samuel saw his header from Kuzmanovic's corner saved by the keeper, but the Argentine defender made no mistake when Kuzmanovic curled another ball onto his head from a free kick in the 66th minute, taking the score to 3-0.

Mazzarri's side kept playing their game and on 69 minutes Andreolli set up Olsen, the youngster denied a personal double only by a smart stop from Guatelli. A minute later Andreolli's headed effort from yet another Kuzmanovic corner was parried by the keeper.

Locarno had their best chance for a consolation goal in the 76th minute as first Mudingayi cleared Panizzolo's effort off the line then Castelazzi turned Zivko's follow-up behind for a corner. The Nerazzurri shotstopper was made to work twice more before the final whistle, but had no problem dealing with another Zivko effort and Kofi's strike from distance.
