INTER CAMPUS BOLIVIA: KIDS' DELIGHT AT LEAVING THE PRISON

Children in Cochabamba are forced by law to live with their convict fathers. Footage from the day thanks to the video of our coach Lorenzo Gironi

COCHABAMBA - A vital new component has been added to the huge work done by the Fondazione Massimo Casari which facilitates education and fun for the children of Cochabamba, along with the help of Inter Campus.

For a while now they have been trying strike deal with the San Sebasian Cochabamba prison which holds 700 inmates, with a capacity of 200, and a hundred or so boys and girls, who by law are forced to follow their father until they are teenagers, while the mother provides for the family's needs.

Finally the Fondazione Casari and Inter Campus have managed to broaden the programme, officially including 40 kids who, once a week, can leave the prison and go to play at the foundation's headquarters.

This is not the end goal but a start, since the aim is to make this a continuous process in the hope that one day the law will be changed and improved.

The pictures from our Lorenzo Gironi try to tell the story of one of the most emotional days we've experienced in all the years of Inter Campus.
