MASSIMO MORATTI: "WELL PLAYED, LADS. KEEP IT UP"

"Mazzarri has done brilliantly and Milito deserves this joy. I'm looking at the club's future, trying to boost its potential compared to now"

REGGIO EMILIA - President Massimo Moratti was approached by reporters as he left Mapei Stadium after watching Inter thrash Sassuolo today. This is what he said:

"Did I expect us to play that well? I expected us to play well, yes. The result is another matter because at a certain point Sassuolo's heads dropped. The game went very well though.

"7-0 away from home is a new record? I'm glad it happened to Milito because it's a joy and satisfaction he deserves as a person and an athlete. Like Ronaldo's return from injury against Brescia? Yes, I suppose there are similarities there, given that Milito was sidelined for seven months. It could have been much more difficult for us but it wasn't. We're really pleased for him.

"Could seeing Inter top of the league make me consider calling everything off with Thohir? No, that has no bearing on things because what I'm looking at is the club's future and trying to boost its potential compared to now. This team will always give their all, regardless of who is in charge.

"Good team spirit? Yes, the players seemed proud to be playing for the shirt and there were some important goals. When you win you feel you're part of an ideal. They all seemed in form and played well. We've spent intelligently, bringing in lots of youngsters who have come in for criticism but are showing how talented they are.

"Mazzarri? No, I didn't expect him to have quite this impact. He's done brilliantly because he's a hard worker and he's instilled the same sense of joy and duty that he has in everyone else. Hopefully that will continue."
