APPIANO GENTILE – Continuing his chat with InterNOS hosts Nagaja Beccalossi and Roberto Monzani, Ricky Alvarez spoke about his time at Velez and what it means to him to be able to drive through the gates of Inter's Pinetina training ground every day.
The 25-year-old admitted: "I feel very lucky to be able to do something that I love as my job. I always thank God for giving me this opportunity. It all starts off as a game when you're a kid and I think one of the hardest things is still seeing it as a game after you turn professional. Football's big business now of course and you have to take it very seriously, but you should always try to remember that it's about having fun too."
Talk then turned to Inter's most recent match, last Saturday's Derby D'Italia. Alvarez was asked about the trick he pulled on Bianconeri defender Giorgio Chiellini, which led to Mauro Icardi's opening goal. He explained: "Against Juventus you could see that every time one of their players received the ball there were three of us closing him down trying to win it. That's how you need to play all the time because that's what football's about nowadays."
