HARD WORK AND SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS FOR INTER CAMPUS IN COLOMBIA

Training courses continue on the outskirts of Cali while progress is made in developing activities in new centres

CALI – The programme for Inter Campus' recent visit to Colombia was chock full of events, as always. It began with a meeting at the Escuela Nacional del Deporte of the University of Cali, where the Inter Campus delegation presented the Nerazzurri’s social project, following with a demonstration session on the pitch for 20 enthusiastic kids from the Fortaleza centre.

The activities that took place in the historical centres of André Sanin, Guahaba and other locations that have got involved in the programme more recently highlighted the great progress made, much to our own satisfaction.

Meanwhile there was a visit to the centre in Santa Marta, with the purpose of meeting representatives and monitoring activities approximately one year after its inauguration. As so often happens, there were already requests from many children who want to take part, as well as from local foundations wishing to collaborate.

There was also a big welcome back party for John Alejandro Cruz, a young lad who in May finally underwent surgery to correct a cleft palate, made possible by a collaboration between the Fundacion Crecer Jugando, the Fundacion e Clinica Recuparar and the Associazione italiana Sol y Luna. With his happy and grateful parents looking on, John Alejandro was seemed delighted to be back with his team-mates on the pitch of the Barrio Fortaleza with Inter Campus representatives Aldo Montinaro and Juri Monzani. Also present was the Colombian coordinator of the project, Ricardo Martinez, and the manager of the centre, Hebert Gonzalias.
