MILITO: "IMPORTANT TO GET MINUTES UNDER MY BELT"

After turning out for the Primavera, El Principe said: "The knee's fine, I'm feeling better and better. Been through a tough time but it's over now"

MILAN - Diego Milito took a few moments after the Nerazzurri Primavera's win over Cittadella to speak to the journalists present at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti this afternoon.

The striker began: "I can't wait to return but for the time being it's important to keep getting minutes under my belt with the Primavera. I felt good out there today and I'm happy because I'm starting to find my rhythm again. My knee's fine and that's the main thing. I'm proud that Mazzarri has shown so much faith in me and I'm working hard every day to so that I can repay him on the pitch."

Probed further on his fitness, Milito replied: "It's hard to say... I still have to get back into my stride after six months on the sidelines but I felt better today than I did last week and I'll feel better still next week. We've got another fortnight to work now, so we'll see how it goes. My first target is to reach full fitness, after that I can think about scoring again. As I said, at the moment it's all about getting minutes under my belt. Without doubt the hardest period was the first two months, when I couldn't even put weight on my leg. It was a really tough time but it's behind me now and I want to enjoy the moment."
