TAIDER: "WE'LL ALWAYS GIVE EVERYTHING TO TRY AND WIN"

Thoughts of the Nerazzurri midfielder to the press: "I don't have a preferred position in midfield, it's up to Mazzarri to decide..."

APPIANO GENTILE - Saphir Taïder met the media in the press room at Appiano Gentile earlier. Here's what the Franco-Algerian midfielder had to say:

Does he think the Scudetto is a possibility? The midfield was very clear from the outset as to his and his team-mates' goals: "We know Inter is a huge club, but we're only thinking about working and giving everything on the pitch, and we'll try to honour this club through hard work. When you go out onto the pitch, you just have to think about giving everything, that's it."

He was asked what his preferred position is: "I don't have a preferred position in midfield, I need to think about helping my team and giving my all, as I've always done, then it's up to the coach to decide. We are players and we need to train well to show the coach we can play on a Sunday. It's a long season and we'll need everyone. Yes, Guarin and Kovacic are two important players but so is everyone else, when you make it to this level everyone is an important player.

"We know where our strengths lie, but I don't know if teams will fear us: I've never feared anyone so I don't know if other teams will be afraid of us. We'll definitely give everything to win our games. We're Inter and we need to always try and win."

Taïder is in no doubt this was the right time to sign for a big club like Inter: "It's the right time to join because I've always wanted to come to a top club. I'm here and I'll give my all to try and achieve as much as possible with this team. I went on international duty at the end of the season, then on holiday. When I found out Inter wanted me and the clubs had agreed a fee I came straight here. That's what my target was on the field, and I've achieved it."

Taïder finished by telling the press what he can bring to the Nerazzurri: "When you believe in yourself, you won't have any problems. In football you need to show every day that you're ready and you can play. I'm confident and am thinking about the future. I know what I can do. Fitness-wise I'm ready, and we all know the language of football out on the pitch. I've already played in Serie A, I know the football here, and the most important thing is that I'm physically fit."
