PRIMAVERA, BRESCIA 2-2 INTER

Cerrone's lads - with Milito in the starting line-up - fight back from 2-0 down: Tassi from the spot then Bonazzoli with a stunning overhead kick

BRESCIA – The 2013/14 Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti (Primavera Championship) got underway this afternoon with Inter travelling to Brescia for their opening-day fixture.

The Centro Sportivo San Filippo was packed with expectant fans, there to get a look at this new crop of Nerazzurri talent but also because there was a very familiar name in the line-up: Diego Milito. Inter's treble hero was drafted into the Primavera team for a run-out with the youngsters as he works towards full match fitness following six months on the sidelines.

It was also Salvatore Cerrone's debut at the helm of the Nerazzurri Under-19s after spending last year with the Under-17s.

Inter, set out in a 3-5-2 formation, started the game brightly but found themselves behind at the break, as goals by Valotti and Gullota (a player half-owned by Inter) established a 2-0 lead for the hosts.

As agreed before the game, Milito was replaced by Lorenzo Bonazzoli at half-time. El Principe looked to be in fairly good shape and will be pleased with the 45 minutes he clocked up.

Cerrone's lads went on the attack after the restart looking to get themselves back into the game, and four minutes in they had the chance to do just that when they were awarded a penalty. Captain Lorenzo Tassi stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 1-2.

The equalizer came in the 82nd minute and it was a goal of the highest calibre. Bonazzoli coordinated himself brilliantly to connect with a cross from the left and hook home a superb overhead kick, bringing both sets of fans to their feet in admiration.

Inter take a point back to Milan and will now immediately start channelling their attentions towards Wednesday's Primavera Coppa Italia first-round tie with Modena.
