NEW JERSEY – "I always try to do the best I can. I've got to know Italian football much better now. The more time passes, the better you become – that's normal." Juan Jesus reflected on his personal development since joining the Nerazzurri in an interview broadcast on Inter Channel's Radio Appiano programme this afternoon.
He added: "When you go to a new team you just need a bit of time to settle in; now that I've done that I feel much more at ease."
The defender then commented on the fact that Mazzarri has a wealth of options to choose from at the back, but doesn't believe that having to fight for your place is a negative thing: "Competition is healthy. We're all quality players and all we can do is show the coach what we're capable of in training, then it's up to him to decide. I'm still young, 22, so I have to keeping growing and learning with every game, every training session. Mazzarri is giving us so much input in that respect. We're working really well in this pre-season."
The Brazilian also looked ahead to the coming campaign: "I'm working hard to make sure I have a great season with Inter, considering that it's a World Cup year too. Inter and the Seleção are both very important to me."
