INTER 2-5 UDINESE

Nerazzurri end the season with another defeat and will play the third round of the Coppa Italia on 18 August. Udinese qualify for Europa League

MILAN – Inter ended the season with another defeat as Udinese sealed their place in the Europa League with a 5-2 win at the Meazza.

The Nerazzurri immediately got off to a bad start when Pinzi took advantage of a moment's hesitation by Juan Jesus to beat Handanovic with less than a minute played. The visitors added a second in the 10th minute as Domizzi got on the end of Di Natale's free kick to head in at the far post. Juan Jesus quickly pulled one back for Stramaccioni's side though, latching onto a loose ball in the box to fire home through a crowd. Then Di Natale curled in a stunning effort from the edge of the box four minutes before half time to give Udinese a 3-1 lead at the break.

In the 52nd minute Guidolin's side added a fourth on the counter, Gabriel Silva ending the move with a deft chip over Handanovic. Rocchi made it 2-4 on 63 minutes when he met Palacio's low cross inside the box but just three minutes later Muriel restored the visitors' three-goal cushion after a misunderstanding between Nagatomo and Handanovic.

Udinese qualify for next season's Europa League while Inter's 9th-place finish means they will be involved in the Coppa Italia third round on 18 August.
