STRAMACCIONI: "INTER NEED TO BE PLAYING EUROPEAN FOOTBALL"

"It would be a huge mistake if we didn't go all out in these last six games. We're focused on Inter v Parma. Our fans are unique"

APPIANO GENTILE – Andrea Stramaccioni opened his press conference ahead of tomorrow's match against Parma by expressing his gratitude to the Nerazzurri fans who always get behind the team. "On Wednesday the fans once again showed how much they love this club and these colours. I think they've understood that the moment we're going through is difficult objectively speaking, and I think the effort, pride and determination that my players put into trying to get back into the game was appreciated by the crowd, who kept supporting us until the end. Everyone in the dressing room noticed that."

There's been a lot of talk about Inter from people on the outside but as Stramaccioni stressed, "at the moment the most important thing is that we do our talking on the pitch and get a result tomorrow. Our future is Parma. We haven't managed to get a result in the last three games. What I'm interested in is getting results and ending the season in the best possible way."

End the season on a high while trying to take Inter back up to where it belongs, which is obviously what president Massimo Moratti wants too: "I see our president's desire to take Inter back up to the top, which is where this club deserves to be. I sense that every time I speak to him. He's with us, supporting us and working with his closest aides to build something big for next season. As for the remaining six games we have this year, what I think, and what my players think, is that European football is important for us at whatever level. I'm of the opinion that Inter need to be playing in Europe."

What does Stramaccioni think about the criticism? "I think you expect to be put under a microscope when you coach Inter. We haven't been able to produce the consistent results that Inter deserves so it's normal that we should be judged, myself as much as anyone. For you [journalists] the future might be 30 June, for me it's Inter v Parma. It would be a huge mistake if we didn't go all out in these last six games."
