PRESIDENT, DO YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT STRAMACCIONI? "NO"

"I can't make an assessment of a person who's been able to work with a third of what he was supposed to have"

MILAN - Massimo Moratti answered some questions from journalists outside the Saras offices this afternoon.

You can read the president's words in full here on inter.it:

President, a day on from the defeat to Roma, what's your assessment and what's the mood like? Is everything the same as yesterday?
"It can't be any better, obviously. I must say that I stand up for the players as far as their performance is concerned because they did very well in the first half with what they had left, from a mental point of view too, in a team where there's an injury a minute - that certainly does nothing to lift morale. They gave everything they could. That's what they did."

Do you have any doubts about Andrea Stramaccioni?
"No, for the time being I stand by what I said the other day. I can't make an assessment of a person who's been able to work with a third of what he was supposed to have."

Six injuries in two weeks. Don't you think you perhaps need to look at training methods? Esteban Cambiasso and Fredy Guarin are injured now as well...
"Yes, yes... Perhaps."

You've given Andrea Stramaccioni another vote of confidence but we keep reading names of possible replacements...
"Names that you lot write, because nobody has contacted any coach. I read the names myself in the papers, but there's nothing in it."

Was it nice to hear Leonardo say such good things about you and reiterating what a good relationship you have? Could he be a new face around the club in the future?
"I haven't read what he said but I know he's always nice to us. To be honest I think he's very happy where he is and keen to stay there."

What conclusions have you made about this difficult moment the team is going through: the fitness programme perhaps and a bit of bad luck...?
"Look, I haven't had time to go into it in that much depth yet. But the results quite clearly seem to suggest something along those lines."

You recently said "Inter with Interisti" and yesterday the fans in the stands asked for a bit more sense of belonging...
"Just a bit more... That was almost a personal attack, it's got nothing to do with the club's plans."

Are you satisfied with what was supposedly Inter's youth project? Belloni and Forte perhaps came on a bit too late yesterday...
"For their sake too you can't just throw them in at the deep end in the starting line-up. It's not easy to play for the first team, against Roma in the cup, after playing for the Primavera side. But I must say that I'm happy with our youngsters. Kovacic is one example and Guarin is another of young lad who knows how to play a bit. We've got lots in the team. Then there are those who aren't so young but who I think have handled themselves very well this season: doing things out of principle, just for the sake of it, is wrong in football."

Lots of people are wondering if the coach will be confirmed after 30 June. Have you made a decision about that yet or do you still have to make one?
"I hope they will listening to what's happening after 30 June."

Have you spoken to chief executive Marco Fassone since that banner was displayed in the stands?
"Yes, I have spoken to him, but about lots of things. It didn't have much of an effect on me."

What's your aim for these last few games?
"Just to do well, nothing more."
