TRIESTE - Another impressive, convincing display from Ricky Alvarez, who had this to say about the match against Cagliari: "We played well in the first half, they stayed deep and we tried to shift the ball to create space. We deserved to go in front. Then in the second half they took the lead from the spot, but I don't think it was a penalty. From then on we didn't play as well as we had done. But we didn't do enough to get the equaliser.
"Now we don't have time to dwell on this, we must think about one game at a time. Our next match, against Roma in the Coppa Italia, is really important because we can get through to the final. It will be tough because we don't have any fit forwards. Whoever plays though must give everything to win and get through, we want to make the final to turn this season around. Being at a club of this size means you must give your all in every game."
Finally a word on his own rich vein of form: "I'm happy because I'm gaining in confidence by playing a lot, but it's the team's results that count. I struggled today because the pitch wasn't great and I slipped when I tried to change direction. This is not an excuse though, because Cagliari had the same issue. I'd like to thank my team-mates, they always help me and I need to repay that faith on the pitch."
