APPIANO GENTILE - Having provided the assist for Palacio's first strike against Sampdoria, Alvaro Pereira spoke about the injury suffered by the Argentine. "It was bad news," the defender explained in an interview with Mediaset Premium. "Now we must think about Sunday's game though and those who can do his job, although it won't be easy. We need to focus and only think about beating Atalanta. Cassano and Rocchi are now our only two recognised strikers and we need to consider the option of one our attacking players moving further forward: we all need to work hard to allow for this."
Pereira then discussed his side's chances of finishing third: "We all want to and believe we can, there are still a lot of matches to play, but first we need to play well against Atalanta on Sunday. Are Inter better against the smaller sides? Every match is tough. We still believe we can make third and we know our fans share that belief. I've always given my all right from day one here at Inter, but my good performance against Sampdoria is already forgotten. I'm already thinking about the next game."
Pereira then spoke about his relationship with his team-mates saying, "Zanetti helped me a great deal, as did the rest of the team. I spend a lot of time with the captain and our team-mates have that positive mentality you need to be successful."
Finally Pereira revealed, or rather confirmed, his personal target: "It's still to go out there in the best possible shape to help the team."
