BENASSI: "WE'LL REPRODUCE SPURS FORM IN SERIE A"

Sport Mediaset interview: "We were convinced we could turn the first-leg result around, we'll keep that going now"

APPIANO GENTILE – Marco Benassi took some time out away from the training pitch to speak to Sport Mediaset's Marco Barzaghi about Inter's upcoming fixtures after the Sampdoria game was called off. "The break definitely gives us a chance to recharge our batteries. We have an important match coming up against Juventus, historically there's a lot of rivalry there and we have to try and get a good result."

The 18-year-old midfielder also reflected on the reaction the team showed against Tottenham: "We promised ourselves that we would change something we'd been getting wrong which was our approach to games. We went out there convinced that we could turn the first-leg result around and we must reproduce that in the league now by being more aggressive. We know what we're capable of and we're going to give it everything we've got from now until the end of the season."

Benassi also spoke about his promotion to the senior team last summer: "I never would have expected to remain with the first team after the pre-season training camp. I'll always be grateful to Stramaccioni and the club for the chance they have given me. I'm happy here and it's great for my growth as a player. All my team-mates have helped me in my development, though obviously no one's got as much experience as Zanetti and Cambiasso. Who do I look to as my role model? In my position I'd say Cambiasso. At the moment I'm just focused on doing as well as I possibly can, then in July I'll sit down with the club and we'll decide what to do next season."
