ZANETTI: "THAT WAS THE REAL INTER"

"We played brilliantly, but sadly it wasn't enough. We gave everything out there, let's use this now"

MILAN - Javier Zanetti spoke after the Spurs match: "We played brilliantly but sadly it wasn't enough. We gave everything out there. That was Inter, that's what we need to show going forward. We've had some negative moments this season, but tonight we saw a lot of positives. We gave so much, now we hope to recharge our batteries in just a few days for another important match, at the Marassi. We need to show consistency, we hope to play well on Sunday too."

Pupi was then asked about his relationship with Stramaccioni: "I'm not saying anything. Anyone who saw tonight's match will know that you can't play like that if you're not with the coach. What Chivu said? We spoke calmly about it, it was just constructive criticism and he's an experienced man, we hope to be able to progress. It only referred to the problems, but we saw positives tonight and that should be our starting point going forward. Cassano? When he's fit, Antonio can play like he did tonight and he's different class. How do I feel about the Pope? Great! As an Argentine I'm honoured to be represented by a fellow countryman and all of us both here and in Argentina are happy about it. 'Francisco Primero' is for all of us. I've never met him but they tell me he's humble and we saw that from his speech. We hope he puts his ideas into practice. Third place? We need to play consistently like we did tonight. We've only got a few days, we spent a lot of energy tonight and we'll try to work well during the international break to perform well after it.
