ZANETTI: "PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS FAMILY"

Nerazzurri skipper spoke to Inter Channel as he prepares to make his 600th Serie A appearance with Inter

APPIANO GENTILE – After one special day here comes another. After Inter's 105th anniversary, Javier Zanetti's 600th Serie A appearance in a Nerazzurri shirt. That's the number of top-flight games the captain will have played if he takes to the pitch against Bologna tomorrow evening, and ahead of the milestone the captain explained his feelings to Inter Channel: "I'm proud to be part of this great family that is Inter. 105 years of history is an awful long time and I think no matter what the team is going through, Inter is a club you love unconditionally. That's what I think and it's what I feel."

It's also what the many fans who attended Friday's training session showed – that their support for the team is unconditional: "They're fantastic because they're always there for us no matter what. Inter is a club that is loved by lots of people and I think that's very important for all of us."

On the latest record he will set on Sunday evening should he feature against Bologna, Zanetti commented: "It's an awful lot of games, 600 in Serie A. It's just one more thing I have to thank Inter for. Being the captain for so many years is a great responsibility to have and I always wear the armband with immense pride. Will I wear a special armband for this game? I expect so. I think my friend Fede will have got one ready, but regardless of that let's hope we can celebrate both my 600 games and Inter's birthday with a big performance to make up for the defeat in London, and a great victory because we need it to stay up near the top. We must be very careful and focused tomorrow, especially against this sort of team because they are very dangerous up front. We need to play our game and try to make the most of the chances Bologna let us have."
