MORATTI: "STRAMACCIONI AND TEAM DID WELL"

"They knew how to manage a game that had started quite badly. Extraordinary saves from Handanovic"

MILAN – The day after the derby president Massimo Moratti gave his thoughts to reporters. Here at inter.it we give you his full statements:

President Moratti, Andrea Stramaccioni is now becoming quite the derby man, winning two and drawing another.
"He also won them when he was in charge of the Primavera team [smiling]. Well, yesterday he pulled it out in the second half quite well. I have to say that both he and the players showed they knew how to manage a game that had started quite badly from a psychological standpoint."

Ezequiel Schelotto was a surprise yesterday.
"It was fantastic for him. He immediately gained the support of the fans."

Can we say that Samir Handanovic is performing beyond all expectations?
"I have to say beyond all expectations, sincerely, since there are moments when he makes extraordinary saves. He made an incredible one last night. We’re very happy and he must be as well."

What can you say about Mario Balotelli’s match?
"It was a difficult game for him, both psychologically and because we had taken precautions for him. So we can say he had a good match. The missed goals are something relative, since he had already done a good job simply getting to those balls, and it wasn’t easy to finish the chances."

In what areas can Inter still grow? They did very well in the second half but struggled in the first one.
"First of all I don’t think AC Milan had ever played so well this season. I watched them in other games but last night they were like lightning. All teams have different ways of playing and ways they suffer from fatigue, and psychologically they deal with matches in different ways. We had an example of this last night with AC Milan and Inter in the first and then second half. Where can we grow? I believe both teams – especially Inter since it’s in our interest – can grow in being able to make more room for the players that represent the future."
