HANDANOVIC: "MAKING SAVES IS MY JOB"

"All saves are difficult, you can't say some are tougher than others. We need to keep improving"

MILAN - "All saves are difficult, you can't say some are more difficult than others," grinned Samir Handanovic after he pulled off a string of top-draw saves to keep Inter in tonight's match.

"We managed to pick ourselves up after the interval, although I don't think we got our approach wrong at the start. Perhaps at a certain point a little bit of fear started to set in. We need to improve, we realise we're not finding everything plain sailing, there's still work to be done," the Nerazzurri keeper continued.

Handanovic was asked again to comment on his goalkeeping tonight, and in particular which save he was most pleased with: "the one when I dived low at Balotelli's feet."

And which goalkeepers can be considered on a par with our own shotstopper? "I appreciate your kind words but I don't think there's one keeper who stands head and shoulders above the rest. There are five or six top-class keepers, but not a lot to choose between them."

Making saves is my job, and it's a given you'll have to make them in the derby. Did we show the pride we were lacking in Florence? Yes, you could say that. We gave them the first half, but we showed we could pick ourselves up again. We know we must improve, and I know I can improve."

Handanovic was then asked to rate his own performance: "No, I don't give myself ratings. That's someone else's job," he responded, before calling attention to the work of another keeper: "Perhaps the save Buffon made this afternoon was the best one of the day."
