CLUJ - Andrea Stramaccioni spoke to Sky Sport Italia after tonight's 3-0 win over Cluj - on the back of the defeat in Florence - sent the Nerazzurri into the Europa League last 16.
"Aside from the knocks, my team gave an excellent response by winning again on the road - something we'd not done in a while - and winning well. Positive impact? Let's say today we were angry and smarting after the defeat against Fiorentina. We knew that wasn't the real us in Florence."
"On a negative note, we lost Ranocchia to injury. I still haven't got any news on how he is, but this is something we could have done without, so we're quite unfortunate."
The coach then commented on the upcoming double-header with Tottenham: "They're a top side, at Champions League level, but we're Inter and we'll show what we're about."
Stramaccioni was then asked about the big derby against AC Milan on Sunday at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza: "It's a derby match, we know that Milan are on great form, but we need to compete and we will. We'll talk about it again on Sunday. The loss in Florence was a very bad night for us but now we go into the derby with our heads held high."
He then explained to Mediaset Premium that "we hadn't won away for seven or eight matches. It's a shame we've lost more players between Sunday and today. I'm waiting for word on Ranocchia, they're checking him out now. He picked up a knock because of the firmness of the pitch, let's hope it's nothing serious. He'd be another big loss for us."
