SERIE A, INTER V TORINO: FACTS AND FIGURES

It's been 25 years since Torino last beat Inter at the Meazza. Since then, 9 wins for Inter and 5 draws

MILAN – As we await Inter v Torino, which kicks off at 20:45 this evening at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, we present you with some interesting facts and figures, courtesy of Football Data.

Inter have not lost a competitive match at home since 23 September: a 0-2 defeat against Siena in the Serie A. Since then there have been 12 games consisting of 9 wins and 3 draws. If the Nerazzurri were to remain unbeaten today then you would have to go back to their unbeaten run of 53 games between 2008 and 2010 to find such an impressive run of home form.

Inter are one of two teams, along with Roma, that have yet to register a 0-0 draw so far in the current Serie A season.

Torino are one of two teams this league season with the highest number of scoreless draws: 4 total, along with Siena. The last competitive win away to Inter that Torino notched dates back to 14 February 1988 with a 1-0 victory in the Serie A. Since that moment their record at the San Siro is 9 losses and 5 draws. Their last win, either home or away, took place on 27 February 1994 when the Granata won at home 2-0 in the Serie A.

This will be the second time that coaches Andrea Stramaccioni and Giampiero Ventura have faced each other. Their first meeting was earlier this season, on 16 September, when the Nerazzurri coach claimed a 2-0 away win.

Andrea Stramaccioni will be facing Torino for the second time as a professional coach. In the previous meeting, on 16 September 2012, Inter bagged a 2-0 victory in the Stadio Olimpico di Torino. It will be Giampiero Ventura’s 10th competitive challenge against Inter as a coach, and after 3 draws and 6 losses it is one he has yet to win. In these 9 previous clashes Inter have always managed to find the net, for a total of 25 goals scored.

Officiating the match will be Davide Massa of the Imperia section. He has only been in charge of a Nerazzurri match once before (Inter 0-2 Siena, this season). However, this will be his 9th match with Torino (7 wins and 1 draw for the Granata).
