ROME - "Overall I was pleased with Inter's performance tonight." Andrea Stramaccioni spoke to RaiSport following his side's Coppa Italia semi-final first leg.
"We did what we had to do in the second half. Roma began very well in the first half. I went for Guarin just off a striker, Palacio, and those two were our main threat in the first half, while Alvarez had two good chances in the second period. I must congratulate Roma though, they set up the victory in the first half, but the tie is still open, very open."
The coach continued with his analysis of the contest, highlighting the disappointment of conceding the opening goal: "Florenzi lost his marker again, just like in the league earlier this season at the San Siro. It's a shame. Either way we went closer to making it 2-2 in the second half than they did 3-1."
There was of course a question on the transfer window: will a midfielder come in? "I'm only thinking about my players, the ones I have here and I'd like to congratulate them. Benassi played well until he got cramp, while Cambiasso, Zanetti and Guarin all played their part. I'll keep the players I've got. Now we dive back into league action, I've got great faith in this group of players."
