GUARIN TO MEDIASET: "I BELIEVE IN OUR WORK"

Exclusive interview with the Colombian on Italia 2: "Inter, the experience and desire to win"

APPIANO GENTILE - Two goals in the last two games and eight total so far this season, but Fredy Guarin is not resting on his laurels. Speaking to Marco Barzaghi, in an exclusive interview on Sportmediaset to be aired at 19:00 on Italia 2, he explained: "If I happen to score that’s lovely, but the important thing is a victory for the team. I feel good and I’m working to maintain this level and improve."

The Colombian midfielder, who opened the scoring for the Nerazzurri against Bologna yesterday evening, continued: "It wasn’t normal to play a game like that for 120 minutes. However, it was normal to feel fatigued at the end, but that’s all it was. Yesterday we could have won in 90 minutes but it wasn’t to be. We were at risk for a bit but then our team’s experience and desire won out. We always have to be aware that we’re Inter and that we have to take on every challenge with the desire to win. Next we’ll face Roma and we’re hoping to play a good match. All our away matches have been defeats after the victory in Turin against Juventus? I don’t believe in any curse but I believe in our work, as well as my own and that of my coach and team-mates. Everything that I’m experiencing with Inter continues to give me more of a sense of responsibility. We’re aiming as high as possible and focusing on one game at a time."

Guaro’s thoughts then turned to Porto when Fernando and Rolando were brought up ("Should players arrive with the desire to do well then they’d be welcome."), and Colombia, when he explained his relationship with team manager Ivan Cordoba: "For me he was very important. In Colombia he’s an idol. His name has been engraved in the history of the sport and I have to learn from his example."

He ended with a comment on the Sneijder situation: "We know Wesley as both a player and a person and we hope he makes the best decision as regards his career and his life."
