2012 SPECIAL: PRIMAVERA, CHAMPIONS OF ITALY

Bernazzani's lads saw off Palermo and AC Milan en route to the final, where Lazio succumbed 3-2

MILAN - 2011/12 was an immensely successful year for Inter's Primavera team. After winning the NextGen Series - overcoming Ajax in the final of the prestigious European youth tournament in London - the Nerazzurri went on to lift the national title for their youth category to become Italian champions for the seventh time in the club's history, the third in the Massimo Moratti era.

Inter finished top of their group over the course of the regular season after a fantastic run of results, then knocked out Palermo in the quarter-finals and sent AC Milan the same way at the end of a thrilling semi-final, to found themselves up against Lazio in the final. There Daniele Bernazzani's young charges' incredible desire for success came to the fore, enabling them to edge a 3-2 victory over the Biancocelesti and earn the right to sew the Scudetto on their shirts.
