APPIANO GENTILE - "I’m happy to do my part for the team. I always try to
give my all and improve continually." Words from Fredy Guarin to Sky Sport
Italia after yesterday’s victory against Partizan Belgrade.
The Nerazzurri midfielder was asked if he realises how important his
performances, such as the one last night, are to the team: "I’m aware of
the responsibility I have as an Inter player. The team needs me and it’s
something that makes me proud."
‘Guaro’ has been instrumental, but he stresses that he’s far from the only one:
"Mudingayi? Let’s hope he comes back soon since he’s an important player.
But whoever plays does so giving his all. Sneijder? Everyone knows his quality.
We hope to see him back soon."
But can this Inter side be mentioned along with the word "Scudetto",
especially when taking into account the recent win against Juventus? "This
team has fantastic talent, and we really want to continue in this way. Our
coach? Stramaccioni is truly doing a good job. He’s a great coach."
Then Guarin explained, this time to the microphones of Mediaset, just how important this string of victories is: "We know how important this consistency is. We’ve been working on it since the beginning of the season. We want to continue like this, match by match. Now we’re thinking of Atalanta, and Sunday won’t be an easy game. How do I feel? Good. I’m trying to do my part, but I still want to improve. All players can go through difficult times. It’s also happened to me, but now I feel fine. We’re working together to win; we’re Inter. Can we win the Scudetto? We’ll try."
