RANOCCHIA: "OUR SIGNAL OF INTENT"

"It was important not to lose ground. Torino deserve credit because they really made things difficult for us"

TURIN Sky Sport Italia’s Man of the Match Andrea Ranocchia was first to comment after the game that saw Inter win at the Stadio Olimpico.

"We’re extremely satisfied," said the Nerazzurri defender, "but we must give credit to Torino. They really made things difficult for us, as is always the case when you play a team coached by Ventura. It was important to win today so we don't lose ground and to signal our intent to the rest."

Ranocchia and Juan Jesus are the future defensive partnership for Inter. "Let’s hope so," Ranocchia said with a smile, before adding: "We're working to improve, but we also have Samuel, Silvestre and Chivu. Together we can do battle on all fronts."

Ranocchia gave an assured response when asked how far this Inter side can go: "We must work one day at a time and give everything, then we'll see where we are at the end. Is my positive start to the season a message for Prandelli? It's a message for Inter. Then, if I continue to play as well as I have been doing, maybe Italy will come calling."
