MILAN – August is a time for shooting stars and perhaps thus it was that on 10 August, 39 years ago, one of them landed on earth. Travelling then from Buenos Aires to Milan and donning Inter colours, he came to be known by everyone as the Captain. These same colours, which he wears as he celebrates his 18th birthday at the club today, tell the story of a boy who became a man, a player who became a champion, a friend who became a brother. The same colours he wears as he now stands on the verge of yet another incredible record, the latest piece in the jigsaw of a legend who has made 799 appearances in a Nerazzurri shirt.
