JAKARTA - Following their arrival at the hotel, coach Andrea Stramaccioni, captain Javier Zanetti, Bedy Moratti and chief executive Ernesto Paolillo met the local media. More than 300 journalists attended the opening press conference of the tour, which saw the Champions League and Club World Cup trophies on display, brought along especially for the passionate local fans. Stramaccioni spoke about his first impressions: "It was such a nice feeling to see so many Inter fans at the airport when we arrived. Endless supporters, there were thousands of them. Thank you Indonesia, on behalf of everyone at Inter."
Even though it's the end of the season, this tour is still very important to Inter, something the coach was keen to point out: "All of us, including our president who's not here, care a lot about this tour, and Mr. Moratti sends his regards. This is a country where Inter really is adored and just look at how many fans are here to cheer us. That's why we're all here, except of course those who are injured or on international duty."
Philippe Coutinho is also in the party and is keen to show what he can do following the conclusion of his loan spell with Espaynol. "It's not a case of us seeing what he can do in this tour, we've no doubts over his ability," added Stramaccioni.
The Inter coach was then asked about transfer rumours involving Rodrigo Palacio joining the club. "Inter has very clear transfer targets and we're working well, I can't comment on any new additions because I've not had anything confirmed. Nonetheless Inter are working very hard to achieve success both now and going forward. Inter need to be at the top end of the table. We're now playing European football albeit not the Champions League and we're striving to get back to the top. Problems are there to be resolved and we are very clear on to how to do that, president Moratti knows what to do."
