APPIANO GENTILE – A guest on Inter Channel's "Prima Serata," Diego Forlan continues to speak to fans admitting that, "I also have Inter in my heart and I really like the song "Amala," it's an amazing feeling when the whole stadium sings it. I think it's one of the best team anthems I've heard and I'm trying to learn the words."
All the Nerazzurri fans are united, as is the squad. Claudio Ranieri claims that the side he is currently coaching has the best spirit of any of his previous sides and Forlan agrees: "We're all together and my team-mates have always been there for me. This is really important. We know how to enjoy the good times but we also know how to get through the bad times and when these come around, we know that there are journalists out there who take advantage."
He has no issue with the pressure which is part and parcel of playing for Inter. "This is a great club and so it's normal that there's pressure," explained the striker. "I'm used to it, I have it with the national side, I had it with my former clubs, but I think pressure is a challenge and it brings out the best in you."
And speaking of pressure, Forlan is asked whether wearing such a significant number for the Inter fans is a big weight on his shoulders. He replied, "No, it's a important number. It's great to know the history behind it and have the opportunity to play for a club with such a glorious past. As I've said, I've got the utmost respect for this club, for what it's won, and I'll always thank the people who gave me the opportunity to be a part of it."
Finally Forlan said goodnight to the fans by looking ahead to the future with optimism. "I want to win, to play well, I hope to be back to my best as soon as possible and once again be the player I was a year ago. I'm here to play and to do well."
In exactly an hour's time Diego Forlan will be on "Prima Serata": tune in on Sky channel 232.
