LONDON - Inter chief executive Ernesto Paolillo gave his thoughts after watching the Nerazzurri Primavera qualify for the NextGen Series final thanks to their 2-0 victory over Marseille: "I'm really pleased because you could see what a good group this is and in particular you could see the coach's hand in it all. I've watched this team improve day by day since Stramaccioni took over. We're delighted but above all we hope to have made our president happy too.
"Every little detail was worked out beforehand but it's also important to note what a crucial role the coach plays: he's constantly coming up with new moves to give the team that incisive edge. The players did superbly today in carrying out his instructions and they put their their hearts and souls into it as well.
"We deserved to reach this final. When we entered the competition we knew we might be in for some difficult and almost traumatic experiences, like that 7-1 we opened with [against Tottenham on 31 August, Ed.], but a healthy group learns from experiences like that. Now we have a great team standing in our path but I'm sure the lads will give it everything they've got."
