ZANETTI: "THANKS TO THE FANS AND TO JULIO CESAR"

"At half time he spoke in the changing rooms and he was great. We didn't win but drawing gave us confidence"

MILAN - "Considering the position we were in, I think the team showed great character especially in the second half, and believed we could win it right up to the final whistle," was Javier Zanetti's comment on Inter Channel at the end of the match.

"They left us standing with that one-two, then in the changing rooms at half-time Julio Cesar made a great speech. He was very good. This is a situation only we can turn around. We didn't win but this draw has given us confidence."

Zanetti was then asked to comment on the ovation from the fans as Esteban Cambiasso was substituted: "If the famous 'old boys' are still on the pitch it's because the boss thinks we can offer something to the team and there must be a reason for that. I don't believe that the situation we are in now is due to the 'old boys'. I've had to work hard to get where I am today and I'm fed up with these comments.

"In the past month we have lost a lot of matches," continued the captain as he spoke of when he went over to thank the fans at the end of the match, "I went to thank them because they were such a great help to us. We were angry and upset because we were coming out from a run of negative results while our motivation and dedication were constant. The pressure that was taken off us after Milito's goal was incredible and now we're looking ahead."
