MILITO: "WE NEED TO BEAT ROMA"

The striker speaking to Inter Channel: "Annoying to score four goals and still not beat Palermo"

APPIANO GENTILE – The man who scored four goals against Palermo, Diego Milito, is getting his shooting boots warmed up for Roma v Inter. In meantime he spoke to Inter Channel on "A tu per tu" about what the events on Wednesday evening at the Meazza: "It's something extremely hard to do; it was one of those special games in which everything goes right for you. Unfortunately in this case we didn't get the result we wanted and that's the biggest disappointment. It's annoying to have been lucky enough to score four goals and yet not end up on the winning team. It had only happened to me once before, when I played in Spain, in a Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid."

Four goals or five, considering that he had a 'good' goal chalked off: "Yes, it might have been five, though it might have been four anyway... [smiling], because to be honest my third goal was slightly offside. But I was so disappointed we didn't win that I would have quite happily given up a goal or two and taken the win instead."

In a prolific moment such as this, it's hard not to think back to a few months ago when the ball just didn't want to go in for him. Milito said, "I said this then when I was missing chances from yards out and I'll repeat it now: every striker in the world goes through moments like this, you get times when the ball won't go in for you. You have to stay calm and keep working. I did that and now they are coming for me again. Goals are what we live for and it's what everyone talks about, but I was playing well at the start of the season too. I had some great games but missed a few easy goals. My movement is still same but balls that previously were going wide, onto the bar or back off the post are now going in. In any case I just try to play and do my best for the team."

Thoughts turn to Roma v Inter, a fixture that brings back fond memories with Milito on the score sheet: "Yeah, that 5 May was a fantastic day. I scored and it was the first of three trophies. Hopefully we'll be able to beat them again this time, playing a great game, neutralising their qualities and getting the win. We need it."

Roma and Inter, who will now face off on Sunday afternoon, have both changed a lot this season: "But I think we have changed more than they have. At least they have had the same coach since the beginning of the year, with the same playing style and mentality. We've changed both our coach and our way of playing."
