INTER CAMPUS DIARY FROM PINZOLO, PART 2

Learning on and off the pitch, chatting with the players and much more for the kids enjoying an Inter Campus holiday

PINZOLO - Pinzolo, 11 July, 10:00: this was when the Inter Campus kids' holiday "In vacanza con Inter Campus" literally kicked off! The boys and girls spent a hour and a half enjoying themselves on the Giustino pitch with Inter Campus trainers: divided into groups, the children rotated around four stations honing  different skills before ending with some practice matches. The doctors and nurses who took part in the session - always ready to intervene when the children asked for help - could barely hold themselves back from joining in with the kids. Today was an observation day for the Inter Campus Africa coaches, who will soon be taking a hands-on role in the organisation of the fun technical sessions.

Pinzolo, 11 July, 14:00: Using football as an educational tool is one of the philosophies behind Inter Campus and it applies to an even greater extent on this special holiday, when the children (and others) will learn something every day about how to manage diabetes, particularly during sports activities.

Pinzolo, 11 July, 16:00: the Inter Campus mini-train is always on standby to take the children to Inter Village, where they can play on mini-pitches, put their skills to the test and hurl themselves about with abandon in the specially designed inflatable areas. The African coaches also put on a brief show up on stage to the tune of Bob Sinclar's Sound of Freedom.

Pinzolo, 12 July, 17:00: after a double training session (practical and theoretical), in which we were taken aback by the children's knowledge, everyone headed down to the Stadio Pineta to watch the first team in training. It was an exciting moment for the kids as they sat along the touchline to watch their heroes at work under Gasperini's guidance.

Pinzolo, 12 July, 21:00: back up on stage once more, but this time in the theatre in Spiazzo. Inter Campus kids and children from local football schools were given the opportunity to chat with Thiago Motta and Goran Pandev, who smiled throughout and made it a very pleasant moment for the kids.

Pinzolo, 13 July, 21:00: the morning was spent at Inter Village in an area set aside for Inter Campus and a special occasion. Ivan Ramiro Cordoba came down to spend some time with the Inter Campus kids, answering their questions, mingling with them and signing autographs. His enthusiasm and friendly ways didn't go unnoticed, and for once it was Cordoba who received a signed ball - bearing the autographs of Teo and friends. The Inter Campus Africa coaches followed suit and, to the beat of a dance, presented him with an autographed "diventaREsportivo" crown.
