SAMUEL: "FOCUSED ON LAZIO"

APPIANO GENTILE - Walter Samuel answered questions from journalists after this morning's training session at Angelo Moratti Sports Centre. Here's part one of the Argentine defender's news conference:

Any special feelings about facing Lazio after having played for Roma?
"Yes, a little bit, but it has been a while since I played at Roma. You felt the derby more there, but now I play for Inter, even if I have a very good memory of the city of Rome."

Are there any differences between playing with Ivan Cordoba and Marco Materazzi?
"We always play in the same way. Luckily, Inter have a very large defensive department, and all those who have played during the course of the season have done well. We have a very well defined system of play, we don't change tactically if there's a change of player. It doesn't matter if it's me, Materazzi, Burdisso, Cordoba or Mihajlovic who plays, we all play in the same way."

Can you say that the Inter defence is the best you have ever played in?
"I don't know if it's the best, but I can say that Inter has a system of play that we can find hard-going if we don't all run. So if we don't concede goals it's the merit of the whole team. The role of the strikers and the midfielders is very important for our system of play, they really help us concede few goals."

Sometimes Inter don't manage to kill off matches...
"It's still a good moment for the team even if some say we don't kill off matches. It's not so easy to get in front of goal... We might win 1-0 sometimes, but the important thing is always to win."
