Leonardo Bonucci is looking to play his eighth match in the Supercoppa Italiana, overtaking Javier Zanetti - only Gianluigi Buffon and Dejan Stankovic (both nine) have played more such games in the history of the competition.

Juventus (28) and Inter (17) are the two sides to have scored the most goals in the history of the Supercoppa Italiana (excluding penalty shootouts).

Inter and Juventus have won three matches each across the last eight meetings between the sides that were hosted by the Nerazzurri in all competitions (D2), with Inter scoring at least once in each match.

This will be the 34th edition of the Supercoppa Italiana: Juventus have won the competition on nine occasions (at least two more times than any other team), while Inter have done so five times.

Arturo Vidal has been involved in two goals in his three games in the Supercoppa Italiana, scoring a goal and assisting one more in 2012 - the Inter midfielder has already scored a goal against Juventus since leaving the club - in a Serie A game in January 2021.

Simone Inzaghi is one of only two bosses with a 100% win rate (2/2) in Supercoppa Italiana games (min. 2 matches), alongside Rafa Benitez (also 2/2).

Inter have only lost one of their last 16 games in all competitions (0-2 v Real Madrid in December), winning 13 matches in the process, including each of the last four in a row.

Inter will play a Supercoppa Italiana game for the first time since 2011, when they lost 1-2 against Milan in Beijing, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng responding to a Wesley Sneijder direct free-kick goal.

Inter and Juventus have faced each other in the Supercoppa Italiana only once before, with Inter lifting the trophy courtesy of a Juan Sebastián Verón goal back in 2005 (1-0).

San Siro has been the host venue for the Supercoppa Italiana on 11 occasions, more than twice as often as any other stadium. This will be the first edition of the trophy played in Milan since 2010, when Inter defeated Roma.
