No Lazio win against Inter in last 12

Lazio have drawn 5 and lost 7 since their last Serie A victory over Inter - a 2-1 win at the Olimpico on 21 December 2003. Tommaso Rocchi was the last Lazio player to score against the Nerazzurri in Italy's top flight, in the 59th minute of a 1-1 draw in Rome on 29 March 2008. Inter have won their last three league encounters against the Biancocelesti without conceding a single goal.

Lazio: 14 points in last 7 games

The Biancocelesti have lost just one of their last seven Serie A matches (1-2 at home to Roma on 18 April 2010), winning 4 and drawing 2 (both 1-1) of the other six.

Biancocelesti goalless once in 12 under Reja

Since Edy Reja took over, Lazio have failed to hit the target in only one of their last 12 Serie A games - on 14 March 2010 when they lost 2-0 in Bari. The capital side have scored 17 goals in the other 11 matches.

Only one home win for Inter in second half of league season

Inter's 3-2 win at Udinese on 28 February 2010 is their only three-pointer away from home in the second half of this season's Serie A. In their other 7 away games, the Nerazzurri have recorded 5 draws and 2 defeats.

Milito, Eto'o most decisive partnership in Serie A

Diego Milito and Samuel Eto'o form the most decisive partnership in the 2009/10 Serie A championship. The two strikers' goals have earned Inter 33 of their 73 points (18 Eto'o, 15 Milito).

Milito top scorer, Zanetti most present

With 25 goals in all competitions this season (20 in Serie A, 1 in Coppa Italia and 4 in Champions League), Diego Milito is one of two most prolific strikers for Italian clubs in 2009/10. The other player is Udinese's Di Natale. Javier Zanetti is the most present player in 2009/10 with 4,410 minutes under his belt. The Inter captain has played 49 games, the same number as Roma defender Riise.

Milito on fire in May

According to the stats, Diego Milito is at his most prolific in May. Sixteen of the Argentine's 77 goals for Italian clubs have come in the month of May.

ROME - Inter made light work of Lazio in Rome to move back on top of Serie A with two  games left to play.

Walter Samuel celebrated his 100th Serie A match for Inter by scoring in stoppage time at the end of the first half and Thiago Motta added the second with twenty minutes remaining to give the Nerazzurri a two-point lead over second-placed Roma.

José Mourinho went with 4-3-3 for the first of back-to-back games at the Stadio Olimpico.

Stankovic returned to the starting lineup after missing Barcelona through suspension, with Chivu switching to defence, Milito dropping to the bench and Sneijder and Maicon in support of Eto'o up front.

Inter could have gone into the break with a bigger lead had it not been for the heroics of Muslera, who made fine saves from Maicon, Thiago Motta and Eto'o.

But there was nothing the Lazio keeper could do to keep out Samuel's header for Inter's opening goal.

Sneijder picked out the Argentine with a magnificent inswinging cross and Samuel rose to head beyond Muslera and into the far corner.

Samuel had a chance for second goal right after the interval but his back-post header from Sneijder's corner took a deflection.

Lazio did little to threaten Inter's title aspirations and the corner-header combination worked again in the 70th minute when Thiago Motta rose to convert Maicon's cross from the right.

Inter host Chievo next weekend before travelling to Siena on the final day of the season.
