Franco Paleari faces Inter for the first time in his coaching career.

Lecce & penalties against

After 21 matches Lecce have had more penalties (6) given against them than any other Serie A 2005/06 team.

Just 6 Lecce players on target

Lecce and Empoli have both scored with just six different players this season, fewer than any other team. The Giallorossi's 15 Serie A goals in 2005/06 have been scored by Cozzolino, Del Vecchio, Konan, Ledesma, Pinardi and Vucinic.

Three Inter players prolific against Lecce

Three Nerazzurri players count Lecce as their favourite Italian targets. Six of Recoba's 79 goals have come in matches against Lecce. Cordoba has scored three of his 12 goals against the Giallorossi, and Cruz five of his 60.

Inter unbeaten in 18 matches

Inter's last defeat was the 3-2 loss to Roma on 26 October 2005. Since then the Nerazzurri have collected 12 wins and 6 draws in Serie A, Tim Cup and Champions League matches for an unbeaten run of 18 games.

Nine Inter goals from subs

Of Inter's 43 Serie A goals in 2005/06, 9 have been scored by substitutes: Cruz (5), Adriano (2), Cambiasso (1) and Pizarro (1). No other team has scored as many goals with subs this season.

No Lecce goal since 8 January

Lecce's last goal in a competitive match was on 8 January when Del Vecchio scored in the 29th minute of Chievo 3-1 Lecce. The Giallorossi are therefore without a goal for 331 minutes (remaining 61 minutes of that match plus the entire games against Sampdoria, Livorno and Ascoli).

DA IMPLEMENTARE

LECCE - Second-half goals from Luis Figo and Dejan Stankovic gave Inter a hard-earned 2-0 win at Lecce in Serie A Week 22 to put the Nerazzurri four points clear of third-placed AC Milan and stretch the long unbeaten run in all competitions to nineteen matches. The gap at the top of the table remains eight points, with leaders Juventus 3-1 winners at Ascoli.

Serie A cellar dwellers Lecce had the best chance of the opening period when Mirko Vucinic went through then had a diagonal shot parried by Julio Cesar, but Inter gradually came into the game and went close when Veron had a curling free kick tipped over by Benussi, who blocked a Cambiasso volley from the edge of the box with more first-half heroics.

Adriano's fierce left-footed drive from 20 metres forced a diving save from Benussi on 50 minutes as the Nerazzurri continued to create the best chances after the restart, but there was nothing the Lecce goalkeeper could do to stop Figo giving Inter the lead with a well-struck low shot from inside the box on 71 minutes.

Inter's task was made easier after Ledesma was dismissed for a second yellow card with fifteen minutes remaining, but ten-man Lecce almost grabbed a late equaliser through Cassetti who headed wide of an open goal with Julio Cesar stranded.

In time added on Dejan Stankovic, who returned to scoring in the midweek cup draw at Lazio, met an Adriano pass then sent a 20-yard drive into the roof of the net to make extra sure of the points.
