VERDELLI TO GAZZETTA DELLO SPORT: "I LEARNED A LOT FROM TRAPATTONI AND SIMONI."

MILAN - Newly appointed Inter assistant coach Corrado Verdelli interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (extract 1):

How did Verdelli become a coach?
"With three years under the orders of Trapattoni and four more with Gigi Simoni at Cremona. I'm their son. Trap taught me to stay on the pitch, Gigi completed me through the sufferings of playing for provincial teams in the Serie A and B. They are professionals with a similar philosophy and they use the same tactical module, a 3-5-2 with man-to-man marking. As an aspiring coach I assimilated their art then when I joined Inter from Fanfulla Juniores I added my own theories."

Which means?
"By reminding myself of the humility with which Trapattoni and Simoni prepared for matches and by studying opponents' qualities down to the last detail. I'm one that adapts his own ideas to the characteristics of the players he coaches. And as soon as I see that something is going wrong in a match I don't hesitate to change module."
