MILAN -  There are certain nights that you can never forget, those  that remain etched in the minds of all. One of these took place Paris, when the Nerazzurri enjoyed a night of dominance, joy and success. This Inter team is the latest in our GUESS THE TEAM Instagram quiz.

The specific game in question was the UEFA Cup final in 1998 – the third in the Nerazzurri’s history. A memorable journey that ended with a 3-0 win over Lazio at the Stade de France. Zamorano initially opened the scoring in the fourth minute, while Javier Zanetti then doubled Inter’s lead with a fierce right-footed strike mid-way through the second half. Ronaldo then sealed the win with Inter’s third soon after, dancing his way past Marchegiani before slotting home.

As for Coach Simoni’s line-up that night, Pagliuca started between the sticks, who was then covered by Salvatore Fresi in the sweeper role. Francesco Colonnese, Taribo West and Javier Zanetti made up the rest of the defence. Meanwhile, in midfield were Aaron Winter, Zé Elias, Diego Simeone and Youri Djorkaeff – the latter playing a more advanced Trequartista role behind the front two strikers. Lastly, Zamorano and Ronaldo formed a quality partnership up front.

With the team playing in the retro blue and grey-striped jersey, Benoit Cauet, Francesco Moriero and Luigi Sartor also featured for Simoni’s side in Paris. In fact, this Nerazzurri side consisted of players from Italy, Nigeria, Argentina, the Netherlands, Brazil, France and Chile, all of which helped Inter ease past a top-class Lazio team.
