MILAN - FC Internazionale Milano’s Sport CEO Giuseppe Marotta today spoke to Radio Anch’io on Radio Uno, covering many different topics related to the Nerazzurri:

“Mauro Icardi is a resource and an important asset of Inter, as well as being one of the best strikers around. We’ve managed a situation that is part of the dynamics of football, although the dressing room is united and we’re all focused on our objective.

“Luciano Spalletti is our Coach on full merit. He has another two years on his contract and Inter are hitting their goals – the Coach is also certainly not a beginning in this profession. We need to place our faith in him because he’s achieving the results that we expected.”

As for the stadium, Marotti added: “It’s an important situation because it’s a fundamental asset and because it has value on both a commercial level and as a sense of belonging. It must be a place where you can experience the passion on a daily basis. The stadium revenue is also an important element.”

When quizzed upon potential transfer dealings, the CEO continued: “The Zhang family wants to improve year on year. We must support the squad with elements of quality and a winning mentality, as we are looking to do with Godin. We must find players that can have a positive impact and also help those here to grow.”

He concluded by discussing the issues still surrounding VAR: “The technology is looking to eliminate errors, not to resolve all of them. The great difficulty is on handballs, where there is too much subjectivity.”
