MILAN- Sunday 24th March could be the day that marks promotion to Serie A for Inter Women should they beat Arezzo. While De La Fuente’s girls are preparing for the big match, the Director for Women’s Football at Inter Ilaria Pasqui spoke live at the Sky Sport studios about the state of Italian women’s football. "Something is changing in the culture of our country and also in terms of communication. All of women’s football is receiving more validation, even if we’re not at the level of other European countries at this time, we’re on the right road to get there. The World Cup will be a catalyst, the stadiums will be full and it will energise the whole movement."

Inter have been playing a significant role since establishing a women’s team: "We went with a different project compared to other clubs. We started from the foundations up, from the Elite Academy and we now have seven teams. In October 2018, we started in Serie B with the addition of greatly talented players and experienced additions who have helped us to take a step up in terms of quality. Now, the mission is that of spreading the positive message of women’s football. We’re working in synergy with the Inter Elite Academy that has development centres across Italy to further expand our base. The aim is to have women’s teams affiliated to ours."
