MILAN – After signing from Barcelona in 2009 in a transfer deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic head to Catalonia, Samuel Eto’o wore the Inter shirt for two years. Despite only being at the Club for a short amount of time, it was enough for him to leave an indelible mark in the Club’s history.

In the 2009/10 season, Samuel was one of the key players as Inter won a historic treble under Josè Mourinho. It wasn’t just his goals that were decisive (he scored 16 in all competitions), he was also vital from a tactical point of few, also showing character and an exceptional spirit of sacrifice in the process. These traits were particularly evident in his unforgettable performance at Camp Nou in the return leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona. The following season, Eto’o continued to play a key role as the Nerazzurri won the FIFA Club World Cup, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. By the end of the season, he had chalked up 37 goals.

From Inter and on behalf of all Nerazzurri fans throughout the world, Happy Birthday to Samuel Eto’o, who is celebrating turning 38 today.
