CITTADELLA 0-1 INTER WOMEN

Sebastian De La Fuente's side maintained their winning streak in the league on Sunday, picking up their 14th victory from as many matches

CITTADELLA - Inter Women continued their formidable winning streak in the league on Sunday, with Coach Sebastian De La Fuente’s side beating Cittadella on matchday 14 in Serie B thanks to a splendid goal from Alice Regazzoli. This result now means it's 14 from 14 in the league for the Nerazzurre, while it is also their seventh win away from home.

Inter controlled the match right from the off, with Pandini releasing Marinelli in the ninth minute, although our top scorer couldn’t beat Toniolo. Come the 17th minute, the Nerazzurri were just inches away from the taking the lead through Pandini, with the opposition goalkeeper pulling off a fantastic stop.

Inter maintained their pressure and Marinelli played in Baresi in the 20th minute who hit the post. Cittadella then tested Schroffenegger twice after the 30-minute mark, although the first half ultimately finished 0-0.

After the break, Sebastian De La Fuente’s side took the lead. Merlo crossed for Regazzoli who stopped the ball excellently before picking out the far corner. 13 minutes from time, there was a chance to double the lead when Marinelli’s header struck the crossbar. Five minutes later, the goalscorer tried to add a second but she fired over. In the 91’st minute, Martina Scuratti who was born in 2002 was given her debut for the First Team. Inter didn’t run any risks in the final minutes and brought home a 14th win from as many games.
