MAROTTA: "WITH BUU, INTER WANTED TO SEND OUT A STRONG MESSAGE"

Inter's CEO Sport before Inter vs. Sassuolo: "Our club supports important values. Icardi's contract renewal won't be a problem"

MILAN – Inter’s CEO Sport Giuseppe Marotta spoke to DAZN prior to Inter vs. Sassuolo kicking off: "With the BUU - Brothers Universally United campaign, Inter wanted to send out a strong message. It’s an initiative that demonstrates how much the Club cares about certain values. We’ve received a great response from Lega Serie A and from many other clubs. An important crowd will watch our game this evening: 11,000 children – the adults of tomorrow – will be there, and we hope they will understand what the true values of football are."

Marotta then talked about the transfer window: "Icardi’s contract renewal? We’ll sit down together. We are in no doubt that Icardi will remain an Inter player. We’re happy with him and he’s happy to be here, so it’s just a matter of when we put pen to paper. Godin? Inter have a very strong appeal – many agents and players knock on our door. Our club is an important reference point in European football, many champions are interested in joining us. Godin is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and his profile is certainly one that interests us."
