MILAN – Inter’s Elite Academy also took part in the #InterXmas celebrations as more than 800 people gathered at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago to celebrate the year coming to a close.
Director Roberto Samaden welcomed the guests with the following words: “I’d like to thank all those who are present here tonight, starting with the club, who never stop providing us with vital support. We managed to win seven trophies last season, and we hope we can continue this tradition in the next few months.”
CEO Corporate Alessandro Antonello was also there: “The fact that we’re here tonight at this magnificent location in such large numbers is another sign that our club is growing. To celebrate our Elite Academy in this way was the right thing to do. We achieve incredible results every year, but our most important message is different. It's not just about winning, it's about how you win. We want to pass on our values and make our players grow, not only as players but also as men. I would like to thank all the people who work with our players every day. I wish you all a wonderful festive period and I hope we’re all here next year celebrating further successes.”
CEO Sport Giuseppe Marotta was attending his first Young Xmas Party: “It’s an honour for me to be here today. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on the results you have achieved, and not only in recent years. What you are experiencing is vital because it is providing you with life lessons and it goes beyond your potential future careers as footballers. In life, you have to carry on going forward, whether you’re happy or whether you’re experiencing difficulties. The hope is you can experience great moments through having fun. I wish you the very best of luck for the future.”
Luciano Spalletti also had a few words to say: “I would like to thank the Elite Academy staff for the quality players they’re bringing through to the first team. In order to train in the way you should you need a sufficient number of players, and it’s important that they have quality too. The lads who join in with us allow us to have the numbers needed to do well. I would like to offer my sincerest thanks because without you it would have been impossible to achieve the results we have achieved. You need to be talented to be a part of an Elite Academy like ours. However, this talent needs to be safeguarded and cultivated, thus helping you to grow and become men. Because to be a champion, you need to be a man.”
