MILAN - The Nerazzurri’s new CEO Giuseppe Marotta had this to say to Sky Sport just prior to kick-off for Inter vs. Udinese: “I bring my experience to a club that is already in a strong position but still wants to improve further. I want to take a measured approach, showing respect and offering my skills. There is a gap with Juventus but the Zhang family have demonstrated through their actions a willingness to win and clear ambition. It’s now up to all of us to repay their faith and that of the fans. We look to the future with optimism and determination. We want to achieve big things. It’s always exciting to start a new challenge, with new objectives to achieve.”

Marotta continued: "We’re at the midway point in the season. There’s disappointment for the Champions League elimination but we must have the ability to look ahead with pride and a sense of belonging for the shirt. Here at this Club, I’ve found very well-prepared management and a competitive team where everyone wants to do well. The transfer market? It’s not just that whoever spends the most wins, there are loads more factors at pay. The squad is young, there’s great quality and key individual players. Spalletti? I’ve known him for some time, he’s an excellent Coach and a person of great pride. He has all the qualities to play a leading role at Inter. When I say that the Club must support him, I mean that the Coach must always be given the conditions so that he can work at his best. Icardi? He’s our captain, our goalscorer and a truly great player, his renewal will be dealt with when the time is right."
